Become a child again with a weekend between Paris and Disneyland
It all started with simply thinking about where to go for a moms and daughters weekend.
The destinations were many but then, the little girl that is always present in me came back to life and said, “What do you think if we made a weekend in Paris and went to Disneyland?“
From there within a couple of days, I had everything organized and on October 30 we left for our weekend.
Day 1: Paris and the Eiffel Tower
As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a day of clouds, which is nothing new for us… We had already been to Paris in 2010 and found 4 days of rain and snow, we can say that the city always gives us this welcome! So we left our suitcases at our hotel, which I have to say was very nice, and decided to head to the center and see all the places that have always made the city famous. We just walked, and followed the street, from afar the Eiffel Tower marked our destination. Marta and I, because of the snow, had never managed to climb to the top last time. So we decided that our moms would take a store tour and we would get in and see the view from the top. Well, what can I say, after the hour-long line and the cold that was numbing my feet, the view of the city lit up at night was well worth it. As soon as we got off, with hunger setting in, we could only look for the nearest Italian restaurant. The first day of light-heartedness and being together with the people I love most.
Day 2: the dream comes true
And now we’ve arrived at the day we’ve been waiting for for months. I coordinated everything, woke up early, had breakfast, and off we went. You have to arrive before the park opens.
True, but I had been waiting for this moment for far too long. Since I was a child I dreamed of entering the world that has always allowed me to dream, to believe in fairy tales, in Prince Charming, and that everything could always go right.
And I was not disappointed, as soon as I crossed the threshold, I was immersed in a magical atmosphere that I will never forget and that, indeed, I can not wait to repeat.
At that moment one of the most beautiful things was just seeing the happiness in the eyes of my mom, who for one day was becoming a child again, she was leaving her worries at home, and going back to that fantasy world without a shadow of a doubt gives you joy.
Well, the rain eventually accompanied us throughout the day but it was unforgettable.
The attractions, the characters, the stores, and everything that surrounds you taste like magic.
But one of the things I enjoyed the most was the Lion King musical, I had already seen it with a friend in London but even this version brought a tear to my eye.
I will remember the emotions of this day forever, I became a little girl again with my mom and it was one of the most beautiful feelings I could ever have.
Day 3: Sainte-Chapelle and Île de la Cité
We went to visit Notre Dame again, and I have to say that it makes me very sad to see all that wonder burned away.
Not far away, however, there is another wonder, the Sainte-Chapelle, a church of typically Gothic architecture that was built at the behest of Louis IX.
It is almost entirely built with large decorated windows and the play of light inside is breathtaking.
As always, the last day leaves a little sadness behind, but lately, I always know that I’ll be leaving again soon for a new adventure and this makes me experience departures much better.
Coming back as a child for a weekend was much better than I could have imagined and Disneyland is just a goodbye!
